Tips on How to Write a Press Release :
- Always keep in mind the right format to avoid rejection.
- It should be error free, check your grammar and spelling before publishing your press release.
- Do not use capital letter in writing your press release it will be ignored by the journalist.
- It should be at least 250 words to make it newsworthy.
- Do not put an email ad or contact address on the body of press release.
- Make it a point to write it from a journalist’s perspective. Do not use “I” or “we” unless it’s in a quote.
- Always bear in mind that the reporter is looking for a story that will catch the interest of his readers and please his editor as well.
- Make your story objective and flow naturally.
- Do not use hype-bloated phrases such as “breakthrough”, “unique”, “state-of-the-art”, etc.
- Read news paper writings to get an idea of the style.
